A Winter Getaway at The Pendry Hotel, Park City
It was a crisp, winter morning when we pulled up to The Pendry Hotel in Park City, Utah. The air was sharp, and snowflakes danced lazily down from the overcast sky, adding a sense of magic to the already stunning mountain landscape. As we stepped out of the car, the sight of the luxurious alpine retreat before us made everything feel like a dream. Nestled against the iconic slopes of the Wasatch Mountains, The Pendry is the epitome of refined mountain luxury, combining modern amenities with the timeless charm of a ski resort town.
The hotel’s exterior, a beautiful blend of stone, wood, and glass, immediately sets the tone. Its design effortlessly balances the rustic beauty of the area with sleek, contemporary lines. As we entered the lobby, we were greeted by the scent of rich wood, warm leather, and the soft hum of an open fire crackling in the background. The decor was both chic and cozy, with oversized armchairs, deep mahogany paneling, and abstract mountain artwork that somehow felt both modern and timeless.
Checking In
The check-in process was seamless, a true reflection of the hotel’s commitment to service. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, offering us a hot chocolate to sip while they processed our details. The anticipation of the days ahead made it all the more exciting—slope-side adventures, spa indulgence, and après-ski cocktails at the rooftop bar. We were given our room keys, and with a short ride in a sleek elevator, we found ourselves stepping into our suite.
The Room: Where Comfort Meets Style
The suite was a study in understated luxury. With panoramic windows offering sweeping views of the mountain peaks, the room felt like an extension of the landscape itself. The soft glow of the fireplace, the plush king-sized bed with a pile of pillows, and the warm wooden accents made it clear that comfort was paramount here.
The bathroom, with its deep soaking tub and spacious rain shower, was the ultimate indulgence after a long day on the slopes. Marble countertops, heated floors, and luxury toiletries added that touch of glamour you didn’t know you needed in the mountains. But the piece de resistance? The private balcony, where we relaxed as the sun dipped behind the mountains, casting the sky in hues of pink and orange.
Après-Ski and the Rooftop Bar
As the day wound down, we made our way to the rooftop bar, Après Pendry. The views were nothing short of spectacular, with the twinkling lights of Park City below and the darkening sky overhead. The cocktails were creative—think bourbon with smoked rosemary or a spiced mule—and the cozy fire pits around the bar kept us warm as we chatted with new friends and watched the sky transform. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day in the mountains.
The Pendry: A True Mountain Retreat
Whether you’re here for skiing, relaxation, or simply to experience the beauty of the Utah mountains, The Pendry Hotel offers a luxurious, yet authentic, escape. Its perfect blend of modern design, warm service, and immersive mountain experiences made it more than just a place to stay—it became a destination of its own.
As we packed up to leave, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the memories we’d made. The Pendry had provided the perfect winter getaway, a sanctuary where time slowed down, and all we had to do was enjoy the stunning surroundings, indulge in extraordinary food, and embrace the spirit of mountain life.
Until next time, Park City. Until next time, Pendry.
