The Bellhop Bar by Loews Hotel—a limited-edition pop-up gracing the lobbies of 19 hotel properties through mid-January—features locally handcrafted cocktails served from a retrofitted steamer trunk. This nostalgic beverage program evokes an era where travelers would pack their belongings in wardrobe trunks for extended journeys, and the bespoke beverages on offer are stored in antique apothecary-style bottles. In addition to local, pre-batched libations, guests can also try wine from The Count by Buena Vista Winery (the oldest winery in the United States) or sparkling wine from Conundrum. An opening bell ritual at 5 p.m. nightly signals the opening of the bar.

Streetcar Named Desire

Each hotel has created two pre-batched cocktails made with Angel’s Envy Bourbon or Hangar One Vodka that are locally inspired and unique to the destination. For example, the Loews New Orleans Hotel is featuring the Old Fashioned Streetcar Named Desire (made with Angel’s Envy Bourbon, demerara, and Regan’s, Angostura and Peychaud’s bitters) and is a nod to playwright Tennessee Williams.

Meanwhile, the Loews Chicago Hotel features the Co-HOP Honey Old Fashioned, which is made with Angel’s Envy Bourbon, Chicago Honey Co-Op honey simple syrup (from the hotel’s Flavor by Loews Hotels partner), and Angostura and orange bitters.

The Loews Portofino Bay at Universal Orlando Resort is serving up an Italian twist with the Magari No. 2, made with Hangar One Vodka, lemon juice, Limoncello and basil leaves.

Old Fashioned con Mango

And for those enjoying the Miami sun, the Loews Miami Beach Hotel is serving up the Old Fashioned con Mango. This flavorful concoction  includes Angel’s Envy Bourbon, mango-infused simple syrup, mango bitters, orange bitters and a slice of dehydrated mango.

In the Big Apple, the Loews Regency New York is offering the Olive New York, made with Hangar One Vodka and Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth, while Loews Coronado Bay Resort is serving up “Sage Advice” with Hangar One Vodka, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur and sage leaves.

Taking its cue from the golden age of travel, The Bellhop Bar is a unique setup that allows guests to savor something special. So whether you’re kicking back to relax or kicking off the evening, a specialized cocktail is the perfect way to get things started.
